Refund, Cancellation & Returns Policy

We want ordering from BuildingBasket to be simple and straightforward. This policy explains what happens if you need to cancel an order, return an item, receive an incorrect or damaged product, or if an item becomes unavailable.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under Irish consumer law.

Cancelling an order

If you wish to cancel an order, please submit a cancellation request through your BuildingBasket account where available, or contact us as soon as possible at support@buildingbasket.ie.

If your order has not yet been fulfilled, we will process the cancellation as soon as possible.

If the order has already been fulfilled or delivered, the return and cancellation rights described below will apply.

Change-of-mind cancellations and returns

For eligible products purchased online, you generally have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason.

After notifying us that you wish to cancel, eligible goods must be returned within the applicable statutory timeframe.

Please keep products in their original packaging where possible and handle them only as much as reasonably necessary.

Before returning any product, please contact support@buildingbasket.ie so that we can provide the appropriate return or collection instructions.

Products that cannot be returned for change of mind

The statutory cooling-off right does not apply to certain products, including:

• Goods that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly.
• Sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once they have been unsealed.
• Other goods excluded from the right of withdrawal under applicable consumer law.

These exclusions do not affect your rights where an item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.

Damaged, faulty or incorrect items

If you receive an item that is damaged, faulty, incorrect or not as described, please contact us at support@buildingbasket.ie as soon as possible.

Please include:

• Your order number.
• The affected product.
• A brief description of the problem.
• A photograph where this would help us understand the issue.

Depending on the circumstances and your statutory rights, we will arrange an appropriate remedy, which may include a refund or replacement.

Where goods are faulty or incorrectly supplied, BuildingBasket will not require you to bear the cost of returning them.

Unavailable products

Occasionally, an item may become unavailable after an order has been placed.

If we cannot supply a product you ordered, we will not charge you for that item, or we will refund the amount paid for that item where payment has already been taken.

Product substitutions

We will not automatically substitute an unavailable product with a materially different product.

Where we believe a suitable alternative may be available, we may contact you before making a substitution.

If an alternative is not agreed or no suitable alternative is available, the unavailable item will be removed from the order or refunded as applicable.

Refunds

Approved refunds will normally be made to the original payment method used to place the order.

Refunds will be processed without undue delay and within the timeframes required by applicable consumer law.

The time taken for a refund to appear in your account after it has been processed may depend on your bank or payment provider.

Returning change-of-mind items

Where a change-of-mind return is permitted, the customer may be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods unless BuildingBasket agrees otherwise.

Please do not send products to our registered office without contacting us first.
